How Do You Track Email Marketing Campaign Results?

from:

Keeping a good record and a track of your email marketing campaign can be a really time consuming and difficult task, especially since there are so many rules and circumstances that are completely out of your control and your expertise. This is not something bizarre or unusual. Especially if you are a beginner, tracking your email marketing results can be a nightmare. Let’s see some of the things you should keep in mind when tracking down your results and what you should be looking out for.

The rate of delivery and opening is most crucial for every email marketing campaign because it is the most important factor for the amount of traffic you will get and the potential clients you will gain. Spam filters and folders, black lists and particular email rules, usually in built by the ISPs are your main enemies, and can significantly affect the delivery of the emails and of course your total rates. Tracking bounce rates is the first thing you should do. Your provider can grant you access to that with some simple work, so as to be able to track the bounce rates from your management panel. If you figure out that a large amount of emails don’t get to their destinations, then you need to do some simple things to ensure that this will not keep happening.

- Ask your clients to add you to their email white lists.

- Use the same email address always.

- Respond to spam reports. This is crucial because it can save your business and your campaign if you respond fast enough.

Once you know that your email is delivered, it is important to see who is opening it and who is not. If you use HTML designed email then that is easy, because there are logos and prints you can use that load when somebody opens the email, giving you the desired information for your records. Of course if you want to get a better ratio of emails sent and opened you need to do a few things

- Make your email look professional and interesting. People receive many similar emails every day, so yours should stand out somehow.

- Use well appointed keywords and eye catching titles.

In order to have full and credible records you need to track down the email’s life for at least 7 days, although the first 60 hours are the most crucial, as 90% of the emails are opened within that time. If you think you cannot keep a good track of that you need to either consult with an expert or buy an email management software and service that can facilitate the procedure for you and make your tracking records really helpful and efficient, so that you can benefit from statistics and make your work even better.
