What Is Viral Email Marketing?

from:

Viral email marketing is a form of marketing used through the means of an email. Although it may sound a little sinister and it is quite likely to be mistaken for emailing with a virus attached it has nothing to do whatsoever with virus infected emails. Though there may be such emails but when considered under the topic of marketing, it means that such a method involves many people to send the email and the amount of emails sent can grow exponentially just like a virus does.

These types of emails usually involve a voluntary action meaning that a receiver may be asked to send the email to other persons they know or wish to send considering that they maybe interested in it. People may not agree to do it without a reason so to coax them to be a party to it, some companies may also adapt certain techniques and tactics to let people do this and also see the benefit in it as well. A product seller may come up with an offer where if someone refers the name of a person when buying a product in a sense that he or she was the one who told them about the product and encouraged them to buy it, then that referrer may be given a special discount in their future purchase from that company which is an advantage for the referrer as they may be getting the product at a lesser price than they would have to pay for normally.

Sellers may even opt to choose viral email marketing techniques to better their reputation better. This method is more effective when used in community pages and sending emails to the users of a certain community website that is relevant to the purpose to the advertiser. A technology related web forum can prove useful for a person to sell or advertise about technologically related data or provide any other information relevant to it that may be helpful to the members.

EBooks are also gaining popularity so they may also be advertised using this method and the efforts can be minimized by encouraging the receivers to forward it further to people they know by giving them attractive offers and even some bundle packages like a special discount can be given to every person if they buy a number of the products. Suppose a person likes something which costs 100 currency units. If they buy more than one, then they may get in for 70 currency units. Buying more than one does not make sense for a single person. So they can involve another person who maybe interested. This way, both can get the same thing at a lesser price than what is stated.
